# Can someone give me the name of the conductor or orchestra?

Back in the 50’s I had an LP album of Latin melodies.

On one side, Xavier Cougat (spelling?) played maybe 7 songs. Don’t recall a single one of them - only that in comparison to the other side Cougat’s orchestra totally sucked.

On the other side, an apparent German orchestra, with a German conductor played about the same number of songs, of which “La Paloma” is the only one whose title I recall. And it was exquisite. In fact all the songs were wonderfully done by this German, making Cougat look embarrassingly bad.

So that’s my question: Can someone provide the orchestra/conductor name?

And if you know where I can get this in a CD, well that’d be almost beyond my expectations.

In the meantime, I’ll try Googling.
