Can the Treasury Department was any more money?

They can have George Washington when they pry him from my cold, dead hands!

Stop-N-Robs like to use them as a traceable bill if they get robbed. They leave one in the drawer with the serial number written down in the office. If they get robbed, the clerk makes sure to give the crook the $2 bill (which in a couple of stores I worked in was hooked up to the security system and would trigger the 35 mm camera hidden in a speaker) with the rest of the money from the drawer. Pretty easy to track, since they’re only looking for a rarely circulated bill.

But what’ll I use at the strip club??:confused:

As an ex-cashier, I love the idea of colored bills. You guys have no idea how easy it is for even the most watchful clerk to accidently slip a ten in with the fives or a five in with the tens, thus either shortchangeing your customer or the store.

I’d like to see at least one denomination be bright red!

You tip with singles? You cheap bastard! Me, I always tip the strippers with twos. Sort of a trademark. The boys just love 'em and a couple of them have mentioned that they have an informal contest going to see who can collect the most. Since they collect them by, you know, doing things to me, everybody wins! I’m off to the credit union today to pick up a new supply.

Penny = utterly useless
Nickle = mostly useless
Dime = moderately useless
Quarter = laundromat, vending machines and parking meters
Dollar coin = Lucifer
Dead trees = $$

[nitpick]
From the Bureau of Engraving and Printing fun facts “Currency paper is composed of 25% linen and 75% cotton. Red and blue synthetic fibers of various lengths are distributed evenly throughout the paper. Prior to World War I the fibers were made of silk.”

So no dead trees.
[/nitpick]

Amended:
Dead (sheared?) cotton and flax plants = $$

thay’d love it. with the coins it would be like a big game of doge ball :slight_smile:

You’re not interested in walking into a strip club with a large roll of coins in your pocket?

Otto, I’ll never be able to look at 2 dollar bills the same way again! Until now they were just a neat gift older relatives would press upon me. Now Grammie’s presents will go hand in hand with nekkid go-go boys!

Adios to pennies and dollar bills say I. When I think of how often I’ve not been able to get a vending machine to take a dollar bill, well, grrr…

They made them in the 1920s too. Unless my parents lied to me. Which they might have.

Like this one? :cool:

Whoa. Like, WHOA. . .

I had no idea the US Mint was actually making these things in any quantity at all. Jeep’s Phoenix and Tuckerfan, I thank you for the heads up, and I do fully trust you, but I’ve never seen an official statement that they’re productively minting these things. Gotta link?

Tripler
Twenty six years of denial may be shattered here. . . :smiley:

That’s what it usually looks like anyway.:wink:

A friend’s dad, who spent time in Thailand talked of a dance the strippers used to do called the quarter dance. The guys would bring in lots of quarters and stack them on the table. The dancers would then get to keep however many they could “hold on to”.

They couldn’t use hands, or breasts. :eek:

I can’t speak for the truth of this, but that’s what he told me.

Well, a quick search of the US Treasury site yields nothing about what bills are printed. But it appears from the Bureau of Printing and Engraving that they’re still being printed. However, straight guys might want want to think twice about using $2 bills at strip clubs, since it does mean that you’re gay.:wink:

Oh, and whatami, I’ve heard that same kind of story from enough service men to believe it’s accurate.

My problem with the bills is they look like they were scanned on a flatbed scanner with the Red/Green/Blue ratio all wrong.

Wait … someone is seriously challenging the US Government to spend more money?

You don’t want to go there, man. These days, they’d probably blow a full $5K on toilet seats…each.

[Independance Day]What? You don’t really think they spent $500 for a hammer, do you?[/ID]
