Can Tornadoes Be Blown Apart?

oops.

Nickrz, you annoy me. You really do.

The newspaper article I cited obviously does not discuss the scientific merits of the hail cannon in question. I never said it did. In fact, I made it quite clear it didn’t when I prefaced the article excerpt with the words, “I unfortunately couldn’t find an article about their scientific principle or efficacy (which I was hoping to do). Instead, here is a partial story…”

You didn’t question whether sonic cannons actually worked, you questioned whether they existed. I gave you an article that spoke of one, suggesting that they are indeed real. It’s quite simple, Nickrz.

Don’t come back now and whine about the article’s lack of scientific explanation or history of how well it works. The article I cited was never meant to satisfy those issues - as I made abundantly clear.

Had you only questioned their existence and politely asked for a reference, I would have gladly provided it. Instead, with your characteristic snotty impudence, you suggested that I’d mistaken farmland crop protection for roadside kidney stone surgical units.

It’s for reasons such as these that I find you so damned annoying.

If you’re interested in researching the scientific aspects of the cannons, please do. I’d be happy to learn more about their physical principles and efficacy.

Until then, accept the fact that in your snide attempt to belittle my knowledge, you made an ass of yourself. Come to grips with the fact that you - yes, you, the great Nickrz, Moderator - are wrong.

And just because a farmer is utilizing technology you hadn’t known existed does not make him a “crackpot.”

And as an explanation to anyone wondering why I’m so forceful in this reply, let me say that I’ve been watching with growing nausea the way Nickrz treats most anyone who dares question his perceived innate mental superiority. I’m just sick of his moderator-swollen head and sanctimonious attacks on others. This time he made it personal.

~ Complacency is far more dangerous than outrage ~

I’m sorry you’re annoyed, kind sir, but that often seems to be the case when someone’s assertions don’t stand up to scrutiny.

I was not questioning the existence of the “sonic cannon” or doubting the veracity of your experience, I was questioning the ability of this device to work in such wise as you described and to which you attested in your original post on the subject.
(Nifty straw man, though)

Thank you for your invitation to do my own research on the physical principles and efficacy of the cannons, but I’d rather you went on that wild goose chase. Bring back some cites, and let’s look at 'em.
