Except that, just like pre-election, it’s going to bleed over into all the other forums and infect numerous threads. Complaining, lamenting, even a bit of gloating is to be expected, sure. But the hysterics need to stop. It was ugly before the election, it’s now both ugly and uneccessary. Choices were made. We all have to live with them (or work a way around them 😉 ). So, let’s get onto that, and stop the useless arguments. And the hate. Can’t we all just get a long neck? ---

I avoid a lot of the threads, but there are everywhere, and the assholishness is evident in even the _titles_. Sure, it’s someone’s God Given Right to behave like an asshole, I suppose. But I just took a look around, and now I have to question what you’ve seen. MPSIMS? Nothing. IMHO? Maybe 2 threads. CS? Nada. GQ? 2 threads, both factual and civil. I’m not going to bother checking GD, I’ll trust you on that. And truthfully, I just skimmed the first maybe 15 titles in each forum, so maybe I’d see more if I dug deeper. But I don’t see the creeping vitriol you speak of. And even here in the Pit, it seems to have calmed a little since this morning. Peoples’ posts are far more reasoned this afternoon than they were this morning. So chill, things are getting better. And I still think it’s unreasonable for you to ask people not to fling political mud on today of all days. ---

I will come over to your side and begin parroting the “Calm the fuck down and act like an adult,” line if in a day or two the usual suspects on both sides don’t calm down and act like adults. You are correct in everything you say, but before I join you, we need a few days to let “ **Hangover 2004** ” wear off. After 48 hours, if not well, I will join you in putting out the plea in asking certain individuals to shape up. Look, all of you: Bush is a _cipher_. Remember Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, John Ashcroft, Katherine Harris & Jeb Bush, a stunningly bass-ackwards Senate, Supreme Court justices selling their souls for political expediency, the most worthless suck-up media I’ve seen in my _life_, et al? A _tackling dummy_ could win two terms with that kind of help. And what do you think John Kerry’s going to accomplish in that meatgrinder, hmm? At _best_ he’s ineffectual and doesn’t make things too much worse. The election’s been decided, and we’re going to see the consequences soon enough. But all this screaming over an empty suit is ludicrous. Please, let’s start debating real issues again, for crying out loud. P.S.: Lay the fuck off Michael Moore already.
