For what it’s worth, I use IE (yes, I know it’s inferior and yada yada. It’s adequate for me, and I tend to be stubborn about changing my computer habits. Just switching what a browser looks like, how big the buttons are, etc. is enough to annoy me)

You’re really gonna have fun when you get switched to version 7 of IE!

Well, this is the reply I opened like 5 hours ago. Let’s see if it goes through.

I agree with the OP. It seems like the timeout is set at about 5 minutes, so the time between clicking “Post Reply” and logging in, and then hitting submit only to be told “You need to login” because your session has timed out, is only long enough for the shortest of replies. Having been burnt once or twice, I now use **Tabby\_Cat** ’s method, but it’s still annoying to have to login again.

IE 6 here, I can’t alter the settings or use Firefox because I’m always on a different computer - I don’t use “Remember Me” either.

I don’t want to use “Remember Me” in case someone else is able to get into my account if they access the SDMB after I leave the computer. Nearly all the computers I work on are shared stations in the library on campus - I don’t own one of my own.
