Dallin’s a pretty popular name here in Utah. Course, there’s an LDS muckety-muck named Dallin so that may have something to do w/ it. The rest are abominations. ---

Seen in one of those wedding programs: a woman whose name was Joya, which means Jewel in Spanish. Only, they pronounced it with an English J, so it sounds to Spanish ears like Yoya… bitchslap in Spanish. Please don’t give your kids foreign names you can’t pronounce, or you might end up calling them Bitchslap. ---

I knew of a kid whose parents wanted to name him after the dad, but not “Jr.” or 'II" like normal people. Instead they gave him the legal first name Deuce. How is that even supposed to be after his dad??? His dad’s name wasn’t in it anywhere. ---

I had a phone conversation the other day at work with a lady with the unfortunate name of Candida. I started to think that it was kind of a cool name and then thought, “ooh, yeast infection”. And I know that’s how she spells it because I had to send her an email and she spelled her name for me. ---
