WTF? He was a 15 year old kid. Noone is saying that he was as a saint but noone is saying he was a violent drug smuggler either. The most damning thing people can say about him is that he MAY have been throwing rocks at a guy with a gun and he MAY have been engaged in smuggling people across the border (BTW, I believe you can walk across the border in that part of the country).
If he was a coyote then why isn’t he shotting at the CBP officer instead of throwing rocks at him?
I guess I can concieve of a situation where an officer finds himself surrounded and has to shoot the 15 year old kid but the video does not seem to show a surrounded CBP officer. We do not generally enforce our borders with lethal force. This guy should get fired or put behind a desk for the rest of his career.

I haven’t been in Texas in 20 years but I used to go to Laredo a lot and still keep in touch with people there and the problem isn’t the coyote activity, its the drug activity. Up and down the border its the drug activity.
Illegal aliens passing through the outskirts of town on their way to some poverty level of existence somewhere else in the country is nothing new, it was there 20 years ago and it was never something I would have thought justified killing someone to prevent.

The first reports said the chickenshit cop was surrounded by rock throwers. This video shows he lies.

The man he had apprehended was trying to run back into Mexico. What was the point of even stopping him? Why detain someone and go through the hassle of processing him when he was returning to México to start with?
This whole situation could have easily been avoided. But what the fuck? It was just a Mexican. No big deal.

You know what might work better? A really big fence that separates rock throwing Mexican kids from our Border Patrol agents. I wonder why everybody doesn’t just use that option?

We can also add some lacrosse sticks for easily returning the rocks to Mexico where they belong.

I don’t often agree with you. This may be the first time. Nonetheless, you’re right: “person crosses border illegally, person is part of a group attacking cops with rocks, person doesn’t halt when asked and tries to use the so-recently crossed borderline as a refuge, person gets shot” is a pretty reasonable train of events.

There have been multiple conflicting reports of what happened, and frankly I’m not interested in your insults when you’ve gone out of your way in several recent threads to mis-characterize the US involvement or demonize the US pointlessly (notably the gun smuggling thread) for Mexico’s drug and border crossing problems. Frankly, you have less credibility than Glenn Beck at this point.

Your video doesn’t show what you assert that it shows, by the way, since I just rewatched it on both your cite (which seems to screw with the timing) and CNN.–it clearly shows multiple people involved on both “sides”, and it’s sufficiently unclear and low-resolution that it’s utterly inconclusive as evidence.

That’s not necessary.
Frankly I’d prefer he just got arrested, but I’ve got a very low tolerance for border shenanigans like this. I’m also an advocate for vastly expanded legal immigration and wouldn’t be upset by a general amnesty of people already here.
