It’s all just a part of Newspeak. For someone who self-identifies as a conservative, Ms Coulter appears quite radical.
No, they are not. Men who molest boys are pedophiles, not homosexuals. Some of these pedophiles may be able to maintain same-sex (or opposite-sex, for that matter) relationships with other adults, but their attraction to children is unrelated. Pedophilia is about power, and is akin to rape - homosexuality is not. Several of the links Shayna and others identified again and again mental health professionals who said that and differentiate between pedophilia and sexual orientation, be it hetero or homo. Can you please get it through your thick skull that being attracted to children is not the same as being attracted to another adult? And your classifying it as “homosexual” because it’s sex between two human beings who have a penis continues to be inflammatory, insulting and asinine.

Esprix, why do you think theRyan will listen? He’s clearly decided that he is right, all other evidence to the contrary be damned, and doesn’t care who he hurts with his inflammatory and vile phraseology.
Spit on him, and walk away. That’s all he deserves.

Jon:
No offense taken. That’s where my frustration stems form, though. “Liberal” has become the new bugbear of the right-wing, with people like Coulter throwing it out as exemplary of all that’s wrong with the world. Many self-identified conservatives here on the boards like to use it to describe anyone with whom they disagree. I like homosexuals? I’m a liberal. Hate Ann Coulter? Liberal. Think that the President shouldn’t be canonized? Liberal.
It’s limiting, it’s foolish, it’s representative of laziness and a total lack of intellectual rigor. It pisses me off.
Anyway, upshot is, I don’t consider it a term of derision.
