# Can you guys recommend to me a "Mouse Gesture" add-on?

I use Firefox 3.0.10. I’m on Windows XP, by the way.
When I was on Firefox 2.x, I had a wonderful extension/add-on that did a few key things. Now that I’m on Firefox 3.0.10, I can’t seem to find a good one.
Here is what I liked about my old mouse gesture add-on:
1. I could use the left button on the mouse to activate the action. Flicking up opened a link in a new tab or made a new, blank tab. Flicking down opened a new window. Left went back a page and right went forward a page. T **his is NOT my key issue.** I have been able to find this, of course.
2. I could move Diagonal Up-Left and it would increase the size of any photo or text on the screen. Diagonal Down-Right shrunk things. It was really nice if an articles text or image was too small(or too big). **This was really nice.**
3. I could still select text. I had an add-on here that worked OK, but I couldn’t select text afterward, which was weird.
Anyone know one that can do that stuff? If so, let me know. I may have to ask you about set-up stuff if it requires a lot of setup, so check back if you would too.

I could use that stuff. What’s the name or how did you get your old one?
I create new tabs with Ctrl-t which is clumsy.
FoxFire 3.5 is out now with IE8’s method of keeping an extra blank tab on the tab bar.
I installed it and then went back for various reasons, but you might check it out.

[FireGestures](https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6366). It does everything you mentioned and more, with things like ‘rocker gestures’ where you press the left and right buttons in succession (holding the first down–I set it up to take me through the tabs), and my favorite, wheel gestures (hold rmb, roll wheel). Also, they have a feature I haven’t seen anywhere else, called the [Popup]. It pops up a little menu with “recently closed tabs”, “back/forward history”, or “search selection with”. For example, I highlight a word, flick the mouse up, and I get a list of all my search engines, which I can click. Speeds up browsing by 23.28% guaranteed.

I use All in one Gestures. Not sure it can do everything you want but it has lots of options so check it out.

To initiate a mouse gesture, you hold down the left mouse button, move the mouse and then release the left mouse button.
To select text, you hold down the left mouse button, move the mouse and then release the left mouse button.
I’m not sure how you would be able to have both of these active at once without a massive amount of confusion. I use the right mouse button for gestures.

I am now using the right button, which is OK.
Before, I just held the left button for… 1/2 second when selecting text and it canceled the gesture.
