I played this text adventure game on a BBS about thirteen years ago. It was more like a MUD than, say, Zork, but wasn’t multi-user. I know I played a wizard type because I used spells to fight with, but I can’t remember if there were different classes to choose from. I remember that early on, you went into the woods and fought a giant spider, which may have sometimes dropped a ring. Then much, much later in the game, there was a rainbow which had centaurs to fight in it, and you walked from band to band, I believe. I doubt anyone else hung out at the same place, but just in case, it was the CentralTech BBS in the 315 area code. ---

Thanks - I’ve poked through similar sites before and haven’t come up with anything, but I’ll give it another go. There’s a lot to sort through in this one for sure. ---

The only fantasy genre game I ever heard of as popular on BBSes was Legend of the Red Dragon - never played it, myself.
