Actually, my favorite line from Lion in WInter was said TO Eleanor by Geoffrey; “I know. You know I know. I know you know I know. We’re a very knowledgable family.” Auntie in Beyond Thunderdome: “One day cock of the walk. Next day a feather duster.” in Forrest Gump. School principal: Where’s your husband? Sally Field: He’s on vacation. (This is a great line only because of Field’s delivery. She know’s exactly why he’s asking and what she’s going to have to do to get Forrest into school and she hates it and she’s going to do it anyway. All in three words and the roll of her eyes.) Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid: Etta to SK: “Why can’t you ever be on time?” Etta to BC and SK: “I won’t watch you die.” And since someone was complaining about the OLDNESS of the quotes, the most recent movie I saw was O BROTHER WHERE ART THOU? Penny: He’s bonafide. Penny: Lot’s of very respectable men have been run over by trains. ---

Glen Close in _Fatal Attraction_: I will _not_ be ignored. Robin Penn in _The Princess Bride_: You have always been so kind to me, and I won’t be seeing you again since I’m killing myself once we reach the honeymoon suite. Cameron Diaz in _There’s Something About Mary_: Is that hair gel? “Chefs do that.” and “Get away from her, you bitch!” are two of my favorite female movie soundbites ever. ---

I think **Phil** has it – apparently **Bill** ’s idea of a “great line” is a catch phrase. I have an example from a movie that **Bill** has probably seen – _A Few Good Men_, which nobody has ever called a chick flick. If we ask **Bill** the most memorable line from this movie, I’d bet he’d respond with the Jack Nicholson line: _ **You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth.** _ – a catch phrase. However, the _best_ line in the movie belonged to Demi Moore. When she was asked why she “liked” the marines “so much,” she responded: _ **Because they stand on a wall and they say "Nothing’s gonna hurt you tonight –- not on my watch."** _ ---

OK, there were some Mae West lines mentioned earlier in the thread. I remember this one, but don’t know the movie title. As Mae takes off her coat, the coatcheck girl looks at her jewelry and exclaims “Goodness, what beautiful diamonds!” Replies Mae West “Honey, goodness had nuthin’ to do with it!” Can someone help ID the movie? ---
