Can You name Famous lead singers with a deep bass voice?

Lou Rawls, primarily a jazz and R&B singer but he had a big pop hit with You’ll Never Find Another Love Like Mine.

Alison Moyet of Yaz. I swear she’s a tenor.

Elvis Presley. Not a bass, but he had a wide vocal range and could sing tenor and baritone; “Can’t Help Falling in Love with You” has some great deep notes.

I was going to say Geoff Tate (formerly of Queensryche), but he’s apparently a baritone with a 4-octave range. I think he can sing down into the bass range but it’s not where he’s naturally comfortable.

Nick Cave

Good call on Nick Cave.

What would you call this voice: Udo Dirksnider

Bev Bevan (of ELO fame) has a pretty bassy voice:

People have suggested the above Move song vocals were recorded using studio trickery, but there are clips of Bev singing live in the same register.

Ha. The Bad Seeds used to have two singers with great range.

Although he’s more known for his unearthly high-pitched wail, former Bad Seed Blixa Bargeld can really hit the low notes - check out the cover of Sand by his band Einsturzende Neubauten, for instance:

There’s also Swans’ Michael Gira:

David Clayton Thomas
Jim Peterick
Whoever was the singer in The Tee Set

Country singer Dave Dudley:
