They were there when I was a lad – they’d also been “had advantage of” most likely in the “bed” of some other boy’s pickup truck “with cab.” Unless you’re fifteen, you’re not going to find someone fresh and un-stained in the country. More like meth-mouth, raging alcoholism, and a hunger for cash. Not saying that’s all you out there country-ways, just my experience. ---

I was about to respond that people in Iowa follow the same fashion trends as others, but then I realized this is the same guy who keeps making threads about young women. I feel really creeped out. So, no, we don’t look like that. At all. We’re scaly and ugly and are often born with extra fingers. ---

These look like they’re staged photos for a fashion blog. Imagine if I posted four fashion ads in which the ruggedly-handsome-yet-carefully-groomed male models were posed in such a way that they looked like they could offer me an exciting and slightly dangerous night – _slightly_ dangerous but not, like, _actually_ dangerous, like maybe they’d take me riding on their motorcycle without a helmet, but wouldn’t try to kill me on purpose or anything – and I asked you where I could find men like these guys, because aren’t they so dreamy? I’d probably get laughed at, right? Because these are ads that are trying to sell me something, and men like this don’t really exist. Or they don’t exist in this form 24 hours a day. Like, I’ll go put on a dress and pick flowers sometimes, but then the next day I’ll be in my sweats while I balance my checkbook and clean out the refrigerator. Those photos are selling an image, not a reality. And Manic Pixie Dream Girls are only cute in the movies. ---

NH is a pretty rural state, and I knew quite a few girls just like that. (Living in an all girls dorm meant I knew way too many girls, and way too few guys, but I digress). There was an unfortunate overlap between girls who acted like the OP describes, and those who were afflicted with [the crazy](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=628762), though. Most of them were too unstable to be friends with, but I do miss Heather Boots. She’s the one who asked me if seagulls were real. ---
