# can you sell shares privately?

Do you have to go through a broker? Could I sell my worthless dotcon shares to a friend, and register the change myself?

Depends on where the company is registered but, generally, yes, you can sell (or transfer) shares privately, without involving a broker or a stock exchange. The name and address of the Company registrar will probably be on the share certificate. Contact the registrar to find out what you have to do.
