It really depends on what you like in your examples. If it’s bagpipes, then I’m not about to help as a true gentleman knows how to play them but doesn’t 😉 However searches for: Emily Smith Julie Fowlis Clannad The Dubliners The Chieftains Patrick Street She moves through the Fair should yield some good stuff. ---

Strictly speaking it’s not “Celtic-only” music, since they are recordings of live sessions bringing together singers and instrumentalists from various backgrounds ranging from Celtic folk to American country, but I always liked the BBC’s _Transatlantic Sessions_. YouTube has [plenty of examples](http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=transatlantic+sessions&aq=f) online. And if you’re totally into bagpipes and want to take a closer look at a more modern and highly improvisational approach to traditional bagpipe tunes, I’d recommend checking out [Fred Morrison](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fRWNxqNyNk). ---

If the OP is interested in piping, I would recommend the following: Simon Fraser Pipe Band Live Down Under Simon Fraser Pipe Band Live at Carnegie Hall Stuart Liddle, Inveroran Rob Crabtree, Piper’s Legacy Rob Crabtree, The Piper’s Journey Master Pipers in Recital Parallel Tracks, by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards As a general rule, i would recommend not buying any CD which has a piper in the full regalia (kilt, military style jacket, bearskin hat, etc.) they’re usually pretty generic. Also agree with the recommendation for the Chieftains, especially their collaborations with James Galway and Van Morrison. Those are primarily instrumental CDs, with some singing. For harp, try anything by Derek Bell (sadly, no longer with us), one of the members of the Chieftains. For singing, would recommend Great Big Sea from Newfoundland, and also the Irish Descendants; also the Masterless Men. ---
