It’s been years since I had my tonsils and adenoids out, but IIRC my doctor told me there was a chance that they could.

According to [this](http://www.ivillagehealth.com/experts/ent/qas/0,11816,242110_175479,00.html) article, if they are not completely removed, they can regrow.
