In my life I have seen the emergence of an anti-intellectual right-wing, of which, that has DESTROYED our neighbour to the south. Extreme partisan and populist rhetoric dominates the current iteration of the CPC. The whole reason PP is leader is because he rode on a wave of Trucker insanity that removed O’Toole from power. This has been a sobering past few weeks too. We got to see Manning’s naked demagoguery return with threats of Western Separatism if the CPC lose and even scandal ridden Premier Smith has tried shopping that very same threat to Quebec’s François Legault if the PM decides to limit energy exportation. The CPC is where it is. Reciting facts is not me lying, nor fearmongering. ---

I don’t think you understand what journalism is. It’s not a competition for which team can shout propaganda the loudest. It’s true that there’s some bias inherent in which stories are selected and how they’re covered, but it’s minimal and easily seen through by an educated populace, who can also communicate any serious concerns to governing and regulatory bodies. Sometimes, though, conspiracy theories make people feel important and smart. ---

If you think that the guards on the street haven’t radioed those in the cars and informed the PM as to what is waiting for him when he gets out of the car, then you don’t have a clue as to how security works. And if you don’t think that once told what is waiting for him he didn’t have a say in what to do about it, then well, you probably believe him when he said he didn’t know wearing blackface was racist and so not much further left to discuss. ---

(Disclosure: I think Trudeau is far more pro-big-business and pro-status quo than I would like in a leader, so I’m not without complaints, but your allegations are cartoonishly silly.) ---

The CBC doesn’t get its funding from one party. It gets its funding from the government. Sure, one party tries to cut its funding whenever they can, but that doesn’t mean they get to complain about the CBC only getting funding from one side. ---

I’m not entirely sure anything actuslly happened. The only thing I could see was a Rebel News story from 2021 which stated that to enter an event, “apparently, you had to be double-vaccinated.” It’s hard to take a journalist seriously if they start by denying science and good public policy in favour of conspiracy theories and manufactured outrage. I’m surprised that anyone falls for this nonsense. It must be such hard work to believe the alternate reality over the actual reality. Please have a think about what you are getting out of this contrarianism emotionally. ---

I work with a lot of young people in their 20s. Overheard at work today “oh is there an election?” and “yeah I was thinking of voting for that Pierre guy but I don’t really know anything about him” and “there’s just so much bad with all of them I don"t even bother to vote”. Then they saw me standing there with my mouth open in a look of shock. There was too much to try to fix so I just said Pierre preferes American style health care and social services so if that’s what you like, he’s your guy. She said “oh I don’t really like that”. Then I walked away and internally wept for my country. ---

As of today the 338 projections are: Liberal 192 Conservative 125 Bloq 16 NDP 9 Green 1 The NDP have ticked up a seat or two, giving them perhaps some new hope of retaining official party status. ---

PP had YEARS of high Tory support (and awful Trudeau numbers) to relax and build public faith in his personal abilities. Did PP ever use this time to start taking on respectable persona of a PM in waiting? No. Always smarmy attack dog to the end. His personal numbers reflect this. PP ALWAYS fell behind the polling numbers for the CPC. Carney polling ~49% shows that his brand adds value to the Liberals, while PP’s 33% shows that HE is boosted by the CPC (not the other way around). 3 more weeks and two debates to go, but the time to turn this election around is less and less. People are cementing in their views. I don’t know what would turn the fortunes around now. A major Carney blunder. Something REALLY major. ---
