When I saw that you had posted, **Northern Piper** , I thought it would have been to state that tonight, the Regina Pats won their playoff series against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The Pats are in the WHL final, and the 'Canes…well, time to sharpen golf skills, I guess. Never mind. Lethbridge went a long way in the playoffs (longer than I can remember, anyway), and played well. Great job, 'Canes! ---

I knew that the Pats had struggled back from a 3-1 deficit in the last round, which was very impressive. ---

The thing is, he was a respected soldier. He had no need to lie, yet he did. And yes, if this was a Conservative minister the press would be in a frenzy. He said he made a mistake. This was not a mistake; it was an all out lie. ---

It’s now pretty standard for politicians of all stripes to use the word “mistake” for deliberate acts of malice, dishonesty, criminal behaviour and treachery. We’re entering a post-truth age. ---

Doing it in such a careless manner as to get caught was the mistake. As Dilbert’s Wally said, when accused of abuse of power, “For what other reason would anyone want power?” ---
