Canadian "Do Not Call" anti-telemarketer service starts tomorrow!

Ooooh, please do! It’ll save me 5 seconds!

Update: The service seems to be popular for some reason:

I’ll put our names on the list, too, but I am seriously put out by the exceptions, since those are by far our most common telemarketers. Telus calls me almost every day; they don’t leave a message, and when I pick up, there’s nobody there (even if I wait). I’m not sure what the point of that telemarketing is; if it is to annoy me, it is extremely effective. I’ve started just picking up and hanging up immediately.

The newspaper thing pisses me off, too, but even if it only cuts the calls in half I’ll be happy with it.

Why are they exempt, I wonder? I get a shitload of calls from the Calgary Herald that all piss me right off.

The Sun just comes door to door and bribes me with x-mas decorations.

I believe you can still demand that a specific company or organization add you to their own DNC list, you just can’t do it globally through the national DNC registry.
