I know it might not be detectable, but there was some noise during the election about foreign support of conservative groups, and I was under the impression that even foreign donations through third parties were disallowed. And we have to apply the rules to everyone, even the ones we like. ---

It should be noted that Matt’s 9.2 percent of the vote is almost twice that of the NDP’s overall share in Quebec. Clearly he did something right. ---

Sorry - I know your motives are pure, but as has been pointed out, those laws are there for a good reason. (There was an interesting article recently about another Queer New Democrat, a woman in Newfoundland, who received a substantial cheque from Rosie O’Donnell. She had to return it with gratitude, of course, but it was interesting.) ---
