**Hamish** was musing that he couldn’t think of any Canadian female philosophers. I came up with a couple:

Jane Jacobs (author of _The Death and Life of Great American Cities_, basically founded urban studies)

Janice Gross Stein (author of _The Cult of Efficiency_)

Linda McQuaig (journalist and economic theorist, basically the David Suzuki of economics; _All You Can Eat_)

Naomi Klein (author of _No Logo_)

Margaret Somerville (medical ethicist)

Any others?

**Hamish** would like to clarify that he could think of two 19th-century Canadian female philosophers, but not 20th-century ones.

I guess Margaret Atwood counts (her contributions to Canadian literary theory, ne?)
