Of the 21 posts to the thread so far, 7 were from known Canadians criticizing their own government, 3 were discussions on the use of the word bastard, 3 were statements from Americans saying no apologies were necessary, 2 were friendly jokes about bombing Canada (taken from the OP), 1 wondering if this was a prevelant attitude across Canada, 1 was something about Kenny from South Park, 1 was your post, 1 was a response to your post, 1 was about Rick Mercer, and only 1 was from an American calling her an asshole. Yeah, sounds like a lot of thin-skinned people replying to this thread. ---

Canada sucks but so does the American government…so what? No one takes Canadians seriously unless some political puke makes some comment. BLAME NORTHAMERICANS! Screw Canada. I remember reading an “anti-canada” web page that stated one of the reasons why the Americans don’t want to bomb canada was that the bombs were worth more than the target 😃 ---

I’m still not sure who she was referring to; the US government, or all Americans? And another thing, you don’t make a private comment during a scrum. There’s cameras and tape recorders everywhere! Although, I think the “moron” comment about George W. Bush was pretty funny. I know many Americans think the same. I do. ---

Are they in the majority? \*\* The feeling isn’t prevalent but as a person who grew up in a UEL (United Empire Loyalist) part of Ontario Canada, some of our forebears felt some AntiAmerican sentiment. (Remember the UEL are the folks who left the American Colonies to settle in British North America/Upper Canada when America was getting rid of the monarchy.) I don’t believe the UEL sentiments are as high as they used to be but my mum was definitely UEL but then again, she was born in the 1920s. (The UEL also had very low tolerance for the francophone half of Canada and very high admiration for the King/Queen.) ---

One must bear in mind that she is a federal Liberal politician, a running dog for the Liberal party whose mandate is to loot the rest of the country and transfer the funds to Quebec in order to pacify the French speaking separatists, so there is a certain “cheese-eating surrender monkey” factor to her political beliefs. ---

**The Devil’s Grandmother** **Chretien’s director of communications, Francoise Ducros, resigned last November after referring to Bush as “a moron” for his handling of the Iraq showdown. Since then, both Chretien and John Manley, the Deputy Prime Minister, have warned Liberal MPs to put an end to their anti-American rhetoric.** So no, she wasn’t a politician.
