[The Murdoch Mysteries](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1091909/) set in 1895 Toronto, where Detective William Murdoch a good-looking proto-geek uses early forensics to solve mysteries. Guest appearances by Tesla, Houdini, and Arthur Conan Doyle. Great fun. The series is much better than the original set of movies which had a different cast.

**That’s** what it’s about? I always assumed it was about a crazy separatist, or an imaginative child, from the title.

Twitch City - filmed in Toronto’s Kensington Market and with a cameo by Al Waxman, The King of Kensington.

And in the K of K vein, how about The Trouble with Tracy?

Only a few of the series mentioned are available on Netflix. I just ordered a copy of Little Mosque first season from Amazon to give it a try.

Well, IMHO, _The Trouble with Tracy_ is worth watching only to see how thoroughly awful our TV productions once were. From the show’s [Wikipedia entry](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Trouble_with_Tracy):

> [@](#):
>
> The Trouble with Tracy was a Canadian television series produced by CTV for the 1970–1971 television season, with intended distribution by the U.S.-based National General Pictures. It is considered by some to be one of the worst situation comedies ever produced.
>
> The show was produced as a daily show, and aired weekday afternoons at 3:30 pm from September 14, 1970. The economic and time pressures of producing 130 episodes in a single season (seven shows were filmed every five days) meant cheap, wobbly sets, no outdoor filming, a laugh track instead of a live studio audience, the use of single takes, the reuse of 25-year-old radio scripts, and other shortcuts that resulted in a poor-quality product. Even flubbed lines and bloopers sometimes ended up airing, because the show could not afford retakes.

I enjoyed watching “Seeing Things” on PBS back in the early 80’s. You can find clips on Youtube…

> I have a couple DVDs of HHoF. Fantastic stuff. Filmed here in Hamilton, Ontario, and Vincent Price would come up and film all his parts for an entire season, then go back to California. Loved the Librarian (“Did I scare you, children?”) and Grizelda (sp?) the Ghastly Gourmet. Billy Van, wonderful entertainer.

When I found HHoF on DVD I felt like my life was complete! That was the one show that I would wake up early to watch on Saturday mornings as a young kid. When I got a new ferret in 2005, I named her Grizelda in honour of the late great Billy Van. Absolutely brilliant television! In fact, I think that will be part of my Halloween viewing for the weekend 🙂

Oh yeah, I loved _Red Green._ I love Steve Smith’s laid-back, slip in a zinger while you aren’t watching sense of humour.

I’m a big fan of [That’s So Weird](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That's_So_Weird_(TV_series)). This is one of those shows I only picked up on because my kids were watching it, but I think I find it funnier than they do.

I also love **Made in Canada** , as well as **Slings and Arrows**.

I’ll have to re-watch season one of Durham County if season two ever becomes available. They’re both crime dramas.

I’m watching _Durham County_ now – all three seasons are available on DVD. I’ve only seen the first episode and part of the second. It’s pretty intense. I like all the characters, even Prager. With Prager, “like” means he’s compelling, because what an ass! What’s wrong with his wife that she stays with him?

I skimmed IMDB – don’t want to be totally spoiled – and there’s a thread in the forum entitled “The finale blew”. I hope that doesn’t mean Prager gets away.

Even though this is a bit of a zombie thread, I’ll add another vote for Seeing Things. I haven’t seen it in a long time, but it was a great funny mystery show.
