That was 1994 - Rangers over Canucks. IIRC the last time a Canadian team made the finals.

Never heard they didn’t like having “Canada” noted. Reminds me of the shirt I bought a few years ago. It says Toronto, Canada.  
Is this to make it clear the Hockey Hall of Fame is not in Toronto , Oklahoma? Isn’t Toronto, Canada big enough to be considered the default for Toronto? If I hear Rome, I think Italy, not New York.  
Does anyone think that the fact it is FRENCH Canada may be significant?
