Northern Piper, you would you kindly take on the task of ringing us into the new year? 🙂 ---

Merry Christmas. We may not all think the same, or vote the same, but that’s fine. I believe we live in one of the finest countries in the world. We should all take a moment to reflect on that and how proud we should be of Canada’s international reputation. We rock it. Go Canada at the junior hockey tournament! I love you guys. ---

To say this year was rough would be a ridiculous understatement. Invictus, my Stepdad dying suddenly, and then followed by the loss of my Mom… I am still reeling. I hope 2019 is better - or at least my remaining loved ones make it to 2020. ---

**Poysyn** , so sorry you had a rough year. May 2019 be better! ---

Let’s safely put out the 2018 bonfire, like sensible Canadians, so no wildfire. The campsite has served us well in the past year, but it’s a cold New Year’s Eve. Please join me in the [Canadoper Pub](http://https://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=868172) for 2019!
