Post your experiences here! Quick but important warning: due to section 329 of the Canada Elections Act, blogging or posting election results is effectively considered transmitting information “to the public” and may land you some jail time and/or a $25,000 fine. To be on the safe side, wait until 10:00 p.m. EST to post local election results, guys. ---

Here’s my experience so far: Some twat in the elevator told me in a loud and morally superior tone that voting for anyone except the Green Party was a stupid choice, and by the way, who was I voting for? :dubious: I’m not so much for debating strangers in elevators, so I told him I was voting Communist. ---

Well, the polls here opened at 7 am, so I stopped off on my way to work. It was pretty quiet, no lineups of any kind, so I was in and out in under 2 minutes. All in all, a painless experience. Now we just have to wait for the results. I’m not sure whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing that I’m busy from 7-10 pm tonight, so by the time I get home and check on things it should be pretty much decided. ---

Well, I voted. There is very little point in my particular riding, because the incumbent (a conservative) always gets about 85% of the popular vote. So I voted orange, and thought fondly of mattmcl while I did it. ---

I don’t get to vote til after work - maybe I can duck out early - I didn’t get a card in the mail so I have to go in the longer lineup. featherlou - are there some natural law party guys again? I miss having good protest parties like Rhino & Natural Law. Or was the loon Rob Anders - I hear he’s always saying loony things like Nelson Mandella is a terrorist. I am 5th generation Saskatchewan dirt farmer on one side and pro-labour Irish Imigrant on the other - so I think my blood is orange and voting any other way isn’t even imaginable. ---

I went in early, was there a few minutes after the polls opened at 7:30 since I had a long day today and didn’t want to be standing in line with the after work crowd. There was already about 10 people wandering around (coming in or out). Took me a couple of minutes. I’m somewhat hoping the incumbent gets kicked out, he hasn’t been around the whole election. Heck, I haven’t heard from anyone this election except the Liberal’s. Much the same as last election. ---

My dad ran for the provincial green party in our area last election…so guess who I voted for? I didn’t really want to vote. I wanted to protest how all the parties were handling their election campaigns but I was told that the parties get money for each vote so I dragged myself out a few weeks ago and voted (left town, needed to vote before I left). ---

I am too sick to leave the house, so I never voted in this election. It’s the first election I haven’t voted in since I turned 18, 24 years ago. I would have dragged my sick fanny out to vote anyway, except my candidate is going to win in a landslide. I can hardly wait for the Conservatives to win, and start implementing their SCARY HIDDEN AGENDA! MUWAHAHAHA!!! (twirls evil mustache) ---

I voted after work, around 5:45. I was quite surprised that there was no line up at the polls. I anticipated that there might be given how nasty the election has become over the last couple of weeks. And now I’m waiting for the returns to begin. And watching 24. ---
