You are going to have a picture taken, wearing the hat, aren’t you? And I’ll send cookies out this Saturday. I didn’t get it done this afternoon, as I got my economic stimulus check and went out to have a beer. Well, two beers and some “Irish” nachos, at the Celtic Fox. But I feel good! The rest of the money _will_ go into my savings. ---

Congratulations, **ivylass**! And if I may slightly hijack for a moment, I’d like to let you know that money from the breast cancer site really does get put to work. One of my employees ('round these parts I call her GilaMonster 😃 ) who does not have health insurance has a lump on one of her breasts. We went on the site and found our local number for the Pink Ribbon Project which offers free services to women with low income and no insurance. To date she’s had a mammogram, a pap smear, and will have a ultrasound on monday, all free of charge. They haven’t determined yet whether it is cancerous (they think it isn’t), but even the lumpectomy will be paid for. What a great relief to her and her family. ---

Now that is some excellent news, Ivylass! Best wishes to you and your boobies, and keep taking good care of them! And by the way, your ‘nagging’ is good advice that should be followed. My mom recently had a mammogram done; turned out all is fine with her boobies (yay!!!). And although I’m “only” 24, I’m also considering having one done, just to be sure. ---

Those of you who are thinking of getting one done even though you still have many years to go, get a copy and hold onto it. It’s your baseline in case anything develops later. If you have, like me, cysty boobs, you can use it to un-scare a doc who thinks any cyst is the work of the devil. Gratz to Gail and best wishes for GilaMonster too! ---

I have confirmed that I am NOT starting chemo next week, just seeing the doctor. My next step is to get my hair cut as short as possible. I’ll do that after I see Chemo Doc. ---

_My next step is to get my hair cut as short as possible. I’ll do that after I see Chemo Doc._ op by **Ivylass** ``` My hair is so thin...Every time I (gently) comb it, a great wad of it comes out in the comb. Last night, I woke up in middle of the night with an itchy face...My pillow was covered in hair and I had to get a pet hair roller to remove it before I could sleep again. ``` It’s time to shave it off. I hope those hats I ordered from that web site come soon. I don’t want to do this, but at least I know I’m not losing my hair for nothing. 😛 ---

I came home from work yesterday hoping we could go out to dinner to celebrate, but Ivygirl was already cooking dinner. Ivylad (because he loves any excuse to spend money on me) made this weekend Cancer Free Boobies Celebration weekend. Today we saw _Wall-E_ and ate an early dinner at Outback, and Sunday, all four of us are going to [Silver Springs](http://www.silversprings.com/). I haven’t been since I was a kid, and we’ve never gone as a family. Thanks to everyone for their kind words and support…and I’m so glad so many of you are taking my nagging to heart and getting your mammograms. The scary thing about all this is that I feel _just fine_. If I’d been lax about my health, and delayed getting my physical last year, I could be going merrily along, with no clue there was an alien growing in my left breast.
