Dude in Florida wants Black activists to go back to Africa. Same dude also believes Obama becoming president was reparations somehow. _Posted in Pit because I expect to add some pitesque language later as I’m just too tired to do that now. I also expect some other posters to be more colorful/creative than I ever could with such language._ ---

Dave Barry, the humorist and former columnist for the _Miami Herald_ moved to Florida a few decades ago when he became a regular on the _Herald_, and has been writing about it ever since. You can sum up all his observations in two words: batshit crazy. This is the place where someone nearly ran him down at a crosswalk and yelled at him for being in the way, where motorists regularly shoot at each other out of car windows, and where virtually any election is comedy gold. ---

Based on recent discussions on this board, I suspect we might have a few Dopers come in and tell us that it’s not necessarily racist to tell a black person they should go back to Africa. ---

In January his mom was hospitalized w/ bedsores she got while he took care of her (he claims they happened in either 1.5 or 3 days) and he was [charged w/ felony elder abuse](http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/baybuzz/st-pete-mayoral-candidate-paul-congemi-charged-with-felony-elder-abuse/2311524). I guess that hasn’t been resolved yet. But this man is a piece of human trash that will likely never step out of his narcissistic and privileged bubble to see the depth of his soul’s ugliness. ---

Regardless of who’s responsible, that makes me feel ill. My dad’s been in the hospital for 4 days now, but bed-ridden since late April and my 72 year-old mom has, w/ thrice-weekly help from hospice CNAs, managed to keep him from getting any sores whatsoever.
