Canned bear meat

Sorry. The essence of comedy is timing, but I accept that it is necessary to legislate against humour, otherwise where would we all be?

Yes, now that the question has been answered (and in good detail!), you may recommence your keeping, farming and arming of bears.

Whoa, that’s pricey. Here it’s $10-$25/lb (about 20-50 Euro/kg)depending on the cut.

As for elk, elk is fine. The burger place next to my high school offered burgers in beef, buffalo, elk, or ostrich. The elk burger tasted fine. You can tell it definitely wasn’t beef, but it wasn’t that far off what a regular hamburger tastes like.

I have a tin of bear grease rendered down for me by a friend in Maine many years ago. For water proofing riding leathers. Never found anything better, still have most of it. Been 20 years & my leathers are still water proof. Well, I can’t go swimming but if just riding, only exposed clothes get wet.

Leathers made from horse hide or any animal that can sweat is not good for rain. This bear grease will seal it right up.

Smells tough & mean if you are in to doing that thing. Bawhahahah
