I still eat these things right out of the can/tin:

Pineapple in juice usually
Pears in juice usually
Salmon often
Sardines usually
Smoked Oysters usually
Baked beans often
Pasta sauce occasionally. Yes, you read right. I sometimes eat the canned sauce cold with a spoon and without pasta.

I don’t eat these things any more, but when I did I ate them right out of the can:

Ravioli
Corned beef hash

I have also been known to eat sauerkraut straight from the jar. I don’t buy canned kraut.

Oh my god, you people are disgusting! And I love you all for it. This is nearly as good as a zit thread for pure gross-out enjoyment.

No way. Prove it! 😛

For me: smoked oysters - I love them so much! Also sardines. Mandarins.

Oh, God, how could I forget chili?!? Especially the Hormel kind. The stuff they sell at Wal-Mart is pretty good too.

I just shoveled some of that Cold-Pack type cheddar cheese food out of its container and into my mouth. I swear, if I had to, I could subsist on that stuff and canned chili (maybe with some Saltines thrown in).

Cold-Pack with red wine is the best! Yum! :o

Oh, I forgot about the big gross cans of salmon with skin and bones. (It’s actually pretty tasty, but I have to ‘clean’ it first).

I was thinking of the tuna-sized cans of salmon that actually do look like pink tuna.

I can’t eat much canned stuff any more due to a low-sodium diet, but I used to chow down on:

tuna (with some soy sauce)
salmon ( the bones and skin were the best part)
kippers
Vienna sausages
Potted meat food product
Potato sticks

Van Camp’s pork and beans cold from the can makes a fine and tasty dinner. Of course, they just very quickly end up in another can…

In my poorest college days I ate nothing but Franco-American brand [Spaghetti O’s](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpaghettiOs), sometimes for a week at a time. The only way I could choke it down was cold from the can. When your food budget is down to $30 per month (early 1990’s) you can’t be too picky.

Amy’s Organic Chili. I don’t even heat it up. My wife calls it “eating hobo style” when I do it, and it embarrasses her when I do it at work. 😃

I like tuna, sardines or oysters out of the can. Occasionally, I’ll pick up a can of quail eggs from the Asian market for salads and noodles, but they’re good snacking on their own too. I’ll eat black olives until the can is empty if left to my own devices.

When I was younger, Vienna sausages were a staple for camping trips. College years, Franco American (or store brand if money was realllllly tight) ravioli didn’t require heating up first, just a can opener and a spoon.

Cold _condensed_ soup :). Like I said, I’ll probably think it’s fine. Never saw the foil packaging.

Also, like others, who reminded me: canned lychees; mandarins; and baked beans, when they’re around.

The tomato paste guy probably meant just a satisfying spoonful or so. I’ve been there; and should add a good 1/2 bottle of marinara sauce straight from pantry to mouth has been just fine for me every now and then.

> Oh, and I might try drinking the tuna juice, but my cat would probably smother me in my sleep - the can opener is her signal to weave around my feet and wait for the salty goodness.

Oh yes - NEVER deprive the cat of its God-given right to various foodstuffs. The cat gets to clean out the tuna or salmon tin, the cat gets bacon rinds, the cat gets the crumbs from the bottom of the chips packet.

Humans only evolved according to how they interacted with felines. Those that didn’t have a symbiotic relationship with the cats (read: servant-master) - well, let’s just say - _they didn’t go on to breed_.
