Gates McFadden and Crosby both left after the first season because their characters were so under used. Gates McFadden did come back in season 3. I think that’s a first in tv for a actor to quit and then return after a season?

It happened earlier on Dukes of Hazzard, though the circumstances there were a lot different.

That would be Ensign Sonya Gomez, portrayed by Lycia Naff.

She also played the three breasted mutant in Total Recall.

ISTR Grace Lee Whitney also was once quoted as saying that a studio exec forced himself on her at a end-of-season wrap party, took her somewhere else and raped her, and she then had something of a nervous breakdown. Can’t recall where I read that - sorry.

If it happened, it didn’t happen with Star Trek. Yeoman Rand only appeared in eight episodes, and all of them were broadcast in the first half of the first season. She wasn’t around for the end of the season.
