Hello. First of all, my English is kinda terrible so have indulgence with possible spelling mistakes and grammar, and I suck at summarize everything in a good way… but I do my best 🙂 Very well, I just signed up here to comment on this: [http://www.straightdope.com/columns/040702.html](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/040702.html) It’s about peoples that thinks eating is sexually, who are called Vorephiles. Uhm, well, to be straight, **I am a vorephile myself** , and that’s why this got attention from me. Note: Since the homosexuals have been accepted in our modern society, I would appreciate for your understanding and that you also accept other sexual disposition like vore, and also let them have a matter to say thier opinions, like me. 🙂 However, when I readed what that Cecil wrote, I have to **correct** him at some points, or at least make some things **clear** , but since I have hard to understand English I may have missunderstood him at some things. What I dislike, is that he uses the word “sick” incautious, I agree that peoples that eats other peoples in real life are sick - but, what I want to clear, is that peoples with an fetish like me, in this case **vore** , is **NOT** sick. I understand the feelings about being eaten, and in my imagination that is awesome - BUT it’s nothing that I would ever do in real life, for the superior majority of all vorephiles it’s the same - it’s only an **fantasy**. Well, sometimes I can watch videos on Youtube with persons swallowing goldfishes and so in real life, or animals eating other animals, but I HARDLY call it sick in any way. The peoples who whines about that is only the animal lovers, actually. I mean, humans do eat animals everyday, and if you just would see how TERRIBLE many peoples handle the animals like cows in slaughterhouses, I think you would no longer think that I am sick/evil that watch innocent goldfish-swallowers on Youtube. On the other hand, I fully understand you think I am weird, and I can accept you do, I agree that vore can’t be really called “normal”, but still don’t say that peoples who likes it are “sick”, just because we have another taste in the sexuality it doesn’t mean we are sick peoples just for that. Also I want to say, there are vore sites I visit with forums and a lot of peoples that are like me ( **strictly fantasy vore only, with age limits on 18 year** ). We do have fun there, we draw comics, write stories, discuss, helping eachother if we have any problem in real life to solve and so on. Very well, but Who am I? Well, a fully normal guy from Sweden in the age of 20 (soon 21 😃 ) apart from that my sexuality may be a bit… odd for the most peoples as you sure know now 😉 Thanks for your time and understanding, I hope you got an opinion of all this that we are not sick, (but it is fully okay to call us weird). ---

Without comment on other issues, your English is great for a non-native English speaker. It’s probably better than a lot of native English speakers, for that matter, and far better than most of us would ever manage in Swedish. ---

What Cecil called “sick” was prowling internet boards and chat rooms for people to eat, not fantasizing about eating people. In other words, crossing the boundary is sick, not staying on this side of it. I’m not sure I agree even with that, given the facts of the case as I understand them. ---

They do also give us “normal vorephiles” bad reputation. But well, there are sick peoples everywhere, in anything, not only in vore. I could put an interessting question to myself. If the doomsday was here and we all was going to die, what would be my last wish before I died? Well, being eaten would not be so bad in that case, since I will still die whatever I do! If you would see the vore community, you would at least see that they are some really nice peoples that also have a life, and not a pack of sick peoples that some actually thinks. Oh, I want to correct Cecil at one more thing, that actually made me laugh :rolleyes: _“Googling vore brought up 995,000 hits. Jeepers, I thought, I’m surrounded! (Vore seems to be a common word in several Scandinavian languages.)”_ Well, in Swedish “vore” means “would”… so it’s not that strange he got that many hits in Swedish… :smack: ---

What type of food an human eat have nothing with cannibalism to do =P Cannibalism is when the same “race” eats eachother. ---

Y’know, maybe this vorephile thing would have more appeal if we were talking about Chinese food, but I’ve eaten Swedish food and there’s nothing remotely sexy about it. Simple formulas that might help you with life: Swedish cuisine \<\> sexy Swedish swimsuit model = sexy Swedish dinner = boring Dinner with Swedish swimsuit model \<\> boring, and I don’t even speak the language And I’m speaking as a big, fat fuck who has an unhealthy relationship with food. Or so I thought before reading this thread. :eek: Not that I’m being judgemental. ---

[/QUOTE] I’m not going to go digging for cites, but I remember reading that he had been searching for a willing dinner for quite some time, had already had a willing man in his home and in a helpless position when the man changed his mind, and Meiwes then let him go. To me, that’s pretty much non-sick, and Brandes appears to have been consenting completely. Now _Brandes_ may have been not exactly well in the head, but we don’t know.
