Couple of years ago SNL did a parody trailer for a film supposedly by Wes Anderson, “The midnight coterie of sinister intruders”. At the time I was able to find the song at the end on youtube. Now, a few years later, I wanted to listen to the song again and 1) the youtube video that had the whole song (uploaded following its appearance in that fake trailer) has gone, and 2) no matter how hard I try I can’t google what song it is and by who. You’d think a clearly audible piece of the lyrics should do the trick, but no. Does anyone know what the song is that starts at about 2 minutes into the trailer? Or why it’s not possible to find it? At the time I didn’t get the impression that it was made JUST for the trailer but something pre-existing. (Just like the one at the start is from Paul Simon.) ---

BTW, a lot of people seem to think that SNL sucks nowadays and that film parody nicely proves that the show can be non-sucky at times. (Honestly, I think when people say that the show used to be much better, they’re just remembering the few really good bits over a long period.) ---

That is the youtube video URL mentioned in older posts that I did google (when that video was still available). Uploader name seems vaguely familiar too. Funny thing is, I assumed since someone had put it there it, would be findable. ---

I’ve always figured a lot of the sentiment about how the show used to be much better, is just nostalgia on the part of people who loved it when it started in the 70’s, for whom it’s never felt the same without the 70’s cast. But yeah, it’s MUCH better today than when I first started watching it in the early 90’s, that awful Kevin Nealon/Jan Hooks/Victoria Jackson/David Spade era. ---
