# cant send  or receive  i.ms

:dubious: ok, i have a friend, and he tells me he cant talk to me through i ms anymore, he doesnt know whats happened.  
but he can e-mail me.  
i showed him the prefrences, privacy thing, asked him if i was blocked, he said he tried everything. and no i wasnt blocked.  
does anyone know what may be the problem.

Is he accessing the 'net at work or at home ? If at work, it’s probably a firewall setting. If at home, has he installed any firewall ?

What IM is he trying to use ? What version of Windows is he using ?

We need a little clarification. Will his IM client sign him in? Can he send IMs to others, but not to you? What happens when he tries to send you an IM?

thanks for replys, but i found out what the problem was.  
seems his wife is the main account on aol, and wife must have done something to his i ms, now he cant come out to play.  
perhaps he could create another screen name then delete it.  
but thank you all
