# Can't stay logged in to Straight Dope (help)

Below is a copy of a message I just sent to the webmaster of this site. I thought I should ask here as well, since you all seem to be so well informed. Have any of you had similar issues with the Login?  
I am having log in problems with your message board. This problem has just cropped up recently, no previous trouble with the log in.

I can log in succesfully using the new password provided to me by the lost password auto e-mailer. At that time I see the message: Thank you for logging in, SkyBum.

If I then choose to go to User CP, I am forced to log in again: Thank you for logging in, SkyBum. Once at the CP, if I choose to run a search or any other option, I have to log in once again: Thank you for logging in, SkyBum. Now I am at the Search page. Each time I run a search I am presented with a login screen and once logged in again, Thank you for logging in, SkyBum., I get taken to a blank search form. At this point I have usually logged in “succesfully” 5 or 6 times. I have been unable to complete a search or stay logged in between pages since this problem started.

I wondered about a cookie problem, but even though I have cookies disabled in IE6, I have set it to allow cookies from [StraightDope.com](http://StraightDope.com)

I did re-install Windows XP around the time this problem started but I am certain that my cookie handling is set exactly the same as it was before.

My username is: SkyBum  
My password is: XXXXXXXX(censored)

Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

God I feel like a chump now. I just realized that I had spelled [StraightDope.com](http://StraightDope.com) wrong in the cookie override field. Doh!

Ever notice how often you don’t know the answer to a question until just after you have asked it? Why is that? Don’t worry about answering this latest question though, I’m sure it will come to me as soon as I hit the submit button…
