As the many stars they’ve interviewed have said, it’s who he was, rather than his fame that made him so “important”. I wasn’t all that much a fan either, but then I’ve always found watching what are essentially the jocks and cheerleaders of the grown up world prattle on about nothing kind of boring. But anyway…sorry went off on another track, even I can get behind the niceness and helpfulness he displayed toward young up and comers. A lot of people did get their starts through his show, and his infamous 'come over and sit on the couch" thing. The tributes that I’ve seen so far have all focused more on this gentlemanly “NICE” side of Johnny. ---

Let people get this shit out of their collective systems while they can. To many, his death is reminding them that their end is near too. Many of those boo-hooing are almost ready for that dirtnap too, so let them have they their last shine and 15 minutes before they end up as a side article on Page 6. In a few months, we’ll all forget he died this year and at year’s end when they do a “Year In Review”, you’ll find yourself saying, “oh yeah, he did die this year.” Peace. ---
