aha’s offensive AND lame Wee Todd “joke” for you to get it? Ok now let’s see …I have managed to rock along since christmas of last year never even knowing who you are dropzone until you dropped my nick and referred to my joke as lame and offensive. Let me see if I can get to the reason why. Does it offend you because you know someone who is retarded? Does it offend you because **you** are retarded? Do you fail to get the point of the pit? Do you fail to understand that the OP is in all probablity a troll (strictly my opinion) who posted a troll-like question and **expected** to get some insulting answers? And finally, I used no names in my first post in this thread, that way I insult no one by name. You just read my little funny and decided that you were insulted and so you decreed it lame and offensive. Well toooo fucking bad. When you are made a moderator you can delete this kind of shit and shield yourself and others from having to read it. In the meantime fuck off. Here’s a novel idea. I usually think that a newbie who posts something like the OP and goes away, especially after suffering the vitriolic response to their thread, is somebody you guys scared off. Somebody who is unfamiliar with the Pit and its denizens. If you had taken the time to investigate before going off half-cocked, **aha** , you would have found that, while **Jenie** ’s posts are short and his/her spelling is not the greatest, none of the posts were particularly trollish. Including this thread, a common device newbies use before they learn the lay of the land. You scare off most of them, but you don’t scare me. You are seeing trolls in the woodpile, sir, and you may wish to take some time off to gain perspective. Next time I want to post an opinion in the Pit I will submit it for your approval first. I have nothing against a board for complaining. Other MBs seem to be able to keep control of theirs so the attacks and accusations are minimized. Usually it is because the people elsewhere are more civil and adult and know how to act in public. The people that the Straight Dope attracts are generally like that. Many of you, when outside the Pit, are like that. Here you seem to turn into spiteful seventh-graders. This is not in keeping with the spirit of the Straight Dope itself nor the rest of the SDMB. The BBQ Pit as it exists is a blight and I want it to go away. By the level of activity here it seems to be. Just seems to be quieter every day. ---
