Liberal, non-gun owning and non-gun shooting parent of a kid with a diagnosis of Asperger’s. I taught my kids to never, ever ‘play’ with a gun. If they find one somewhere, they are to not touch it and notify the nearest adult. If that is a good rule, perhaps you can bring it up casually sometime as a place to start. ---

We have three young children. There are guns all over our house. (I don’t believe in locking them up.) Living room, bedrooms, kitchen, basement… everywhere. We live in a rural area, so just about everyone around here has guns. So it’s not a problem as far as our children’s friends go. But when one of them \*does \*bring a friend over, I will put away the guns. Not because I’m afraid of what they’ll say to the parents; the reason is because I do not know if their friend has been “gun-proofed.” ---

I’ve never had Saskatoon berries. This is sad because I am half Saskatchewanesian, on my father’s side. Although, he never took me there so maybe I shouldn’t claim Saskatchewanesianess after all and I probably don’t even deserve to taste the berries. But I’d like to. 😃 ---

Saskatoon berries are awesome. They are also known as serviceberries or juneberries in the US, so if you’ve had those, you’ve had saskatoons. ---
