# Cap (hat) Size

I need to know what cap size I am, but my country is in a genereal strike, so I can’t go out and measure them. Is there any other way to know?

Hat size is the the diameter of your head. Take a tape measure and measure around your head, about a half inch above your eyebrows (if you don’t have a tape measure, use a piece of string and a ruler). What ever your head circumference is, divide it by 6.28 (2\*pi) and you get the radius. Double the radius and you’ve got your hat size.

Of course, this may give you a ridiculously precise hat size, since hats are only measured to the 1/8 size (1/4 for some). Go to the nearest 1/8 inch, or just round up if you don’t want it too tight.

Or, rather than dividing by 2\*pi and doubling it, you could save yourself some effort and just divide by pi (3.14)
