Similar to my experience, I felt like I was back in the early 1990s. They’re probably good if you want a personal touch and some hand holding, but I don’t need that. I’ll take check deposit by phone every day of the week over having someone asking me about my day and making small talk about the weather.
Yes, I do have to deposit physical checks more often than I should.
That’s the part that I actually like and was expecting! Lol Not the hand holding so much, but some friendly chit chat and some good customer service would’ve been nice. Instead, one time, I found myself waiting in line with one teller helping a customer and the other gabbing it up with her buddy instead of helping me. I guess it’s possible that she was on her break, but…wouldn’t there be a policy against taking a break while sitting at the teller window? Idk.
Another time I had some issue depositing a money order…I don’t remember exactly what the problem was, all I remember is that the teller wouldn’t do it. So, I just went to a different branch so that different teller could deposit it, and they did.
