How would compare these two crackers? Same Taste, Prefer Captain’s, or Prefer Ritz? I always think of the [Andy Griffith commercials for Ritz.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyKvMDYeQmo) Nabisco started making[Ritz Crackers in 1939](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ritz_Crackers). [Captain’s Wafers](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain%27s_Wafers) are made by Lance. Keebler makes a copy cat called Keebler Club. A lot of restaurants serve Captain’s Wafters in packs of two with their salads. ---

I find that Captain’s Wafers and Ritz have a very similar buttery flavor. We buy Ritz because they are a lot cheaper and taste pretty much the same. Our local sandwich shop serves a meal deal with half a sub and salad with Captain’s Wafers. We eat all the crackers they serve with the salad. ---

Never heard of 'em, but will search. Ritz are mighty yummy. Alas, if they’re very similar, and Ritz are cheaper, cheap wins. ---

Captain’s wafers were a key component of our diet when my scout troop went on a two-week canoeing trip. They’re wholesome and supply nutrients as needed, and everything tastes good enough when you’re a teenage boy who’s spent all day in heavy physical activity, but we all agreed that they were about the real-world equivalent of cram, the dwarves’ bread from _The Hobbit_. We usually ate them with canned chicken or tuna, and referred to our lunches as “cram and cat food”. Ritz, of course, are legitimately tasty. ---

If The Stores don’t carry Captain’s Wafers then they should have [Keebler Club](http://www.keebler.com/productdetail.aspx?category=crackers&pid=KIC-1227@EN_US). Which I consider identical in size, appearance and taste. ---

Lance does selling a[vending pack of Captain’s Wafers](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51a7fc6xd%2BL._SX425_.jpg). It’s a square cracker and doesn’t seem as good as the [rectangular one restaurants include](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41eqGJuyIlL.jpg) with salads. ---

Never heard of them before this thread. I tried to find them on the [Lance website](http://www.lance.com/), but I could only find examples of them filled with cheese. I assume they come plain without filling, like the Keebler Club crackers? ---

I’d never heard of Captain’s Wafers before reading this thread. However, one day I went to the supermarket intending to buy a box of Ritz and mistakenly picked up Town House instead. Got home and said “Town House? What the heck?” Not thrilled with the idea of taking them back, I decided to try one…and loved it, much better than Ritz. My wife and I now buy Town House all the time. I haven’t had a Ritz in years. ---

I like both, but I don’t see how anyone could think they’re even remotely similar. Different shapes, different colors, different textures and completely different tastes. ---
