I have an alarm on my current car, and I know that my insurance is slightly lower because of that. Really, what I wanted to know is if there is any firsthand experience with a car alarm being effective. Perhaps it’s odd in this forum, but I wanted to hear about anecdotal evidence, just out of curiosity. A couple of posters (Lord Derfel, for instance) have, in fact, had an experience that seems to indicate that in at least some cases, car alarms are a deterrent. ---
