Then there’s an old song that my Dad used to sing, which I guess he learned from his Dad, and which must have been popular when the **Ford Model A** was introduced (1928). Can’t find it on the internet, but here are some snippets I recall (to the tune of “Casey Jones”), : \*Henry Ford built a Model A He thought he’d try it out on the new highway He got it up to 50 and he lost his nerve (Forgot to shut it off going 'round the curve) He passed two Lincolns and a Cadillac too Speedometer sitting on 72 As he passed them by you could hear him shout “The dang thing’s in second and I can’t get it out!”\* Another old lyric my dad used to sing (which was from, I believe “Whoa, Mule”): \*Rich man rides in a Cadillac Poor man in a train Pa rides in a Model T But he gets there just the same! Whoa mule, you kickin’ mule Whoa mule I say Haven’t got time to kiss you now My mule’s a runnin’ away!\* ---

I can safely say that I am ashamed to know this, but… From “Ice Ice Baby” by Vanilla Ice, “Rollin’ in my 5.0 With my rag-top down so my hair can blow” Referring of course to a Mustang 5.0 convertible. How that man’s hair could move with the amount of gel in it that I remember I do not know, but… Word to your mother. ---
