Yeah. The charging system can generate enough juice to run more or less every electrical system in the car as long as the engine is running. The problem is that it will drain again as soon as you shut it off.

Alternators are designed to keep a battery’s charge topped up, not to recharge it from nearly dead. It might never fully charge it, and its life may be shortened from trying.
