# Car insurance ?

I only do that if I’m watching sports. Otherwise, no.

I accidentally (heh) discovered that Allstate had instituted an “accident forgiveness” thing a few years ago, when I scratched up a parked car while parallel parking. It was my first claim in ages – about 10 years, I think – and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had no deductible to pay, my rate wouldn’t go up, _and_ my coverage included a generous rental car allowance (I got to drive an Audi A4 for a few days).
