It is a myth that that is a myth. The only person to have been exposed to a vacuum and survived [was unconscious in about 10 seconds](https://www.spaceanswers.com/space-exploration/incredible-footage-of-a-nasa-test-subject-being-exposed-to-a-space-like-vacuum/). The only person to have been exposed to a vacuum and died while wearing a monitor [was dead in 40 seconds](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soyuz_11#Death_of_crew).
