[/QUOTE] If the price hike came in the wake of the deal to keep 800 jobs in the US, I would automatically interpret this as fall-out from the deal (I mentioned higher prices for consumers as one of my concerns if companies are strong-armed into staying in the US when it would be cheaper to produce elsewhere). Yet, if I read this correctly, the price hike would have occurred no matter what. I have no idea if this is at all relevant to the discussion. Perhaps Carrier’s competitors are also raising prices, due to some increase input cost that affects all of them? I dunno. ---
