Hello Everyone,
I am sure that you have noticed in movies and actual military pictures of a soldier with grenades hanging off the front of his shirt. I am just wondering how this was done. Is there an attachment hook of some sort on soldiers shirts and a corresponding hook on the grenade? Not a world changing question, but one that I have wondered about when I see this.

They’re attached to webbing worn over the shirt. Pictures might explain it better, [Google of “army webbing”](http://www.google.com/search?pq=webbing&hl=en&cp=2&gs_id=8&xhr=t&q=army+webbing&biw=1613&bih=880&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&wrapid=tljp132469045986922&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=Kiz1ToCONcn40gHzi5nJAg).

The grenade is secured with a velcro strap. See [here](http://strikehold.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/rose13.jpg). Otherwise it would fall off whenever you ran or moved quickly.

Tape, cord, strap, whatever’s handy. There are pouches made specifically do hold any kind of grenade you’d like, so that is usually the prefered method.

Here’s a guy using [zip ties.](http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd259/bear_nenno/DSC00732a.jpg)

Also, it is much harder to pull the pin on a grenade than what the movies would have you believe. As a new recruit it basically took all my strength to successfully pull the pin out. So pulling a pin with one’s teeth is comeplete bullshit.

**Don’t** use the little ring to hang your grenade on your web gear!
