Yes. It was first used with Bugs Bunny, but later on Elmer Fudd found the tune irresistable.

Most people don’t realize that it was based on a symphony by Strauss.

What is that sad and sentimental music commonly used as a “dog theme” in Terrytoons and other cartoons?

You commonly hear it being played when a dog is thrown out in the cold, or when one is sent to the dog pound, or when he is reunited with his master.

The board seems wonky. Are you referring to the dog question I just asked?

Different Wagner operas were used throughout the cartoon, most notably _Ride of the Valkyries_ and _Overture to Tannhauser_.

I just merged the two threads, which is why we have the answer actually appearing _before_ the question.

Either that or **RealityChuck** is just psychic or sumpin’.

But, but… _what is it?_ ([Foghorn Leghorn]I’m all curious, like[/Foghorn Leghorn])

Richard Strauss?

I thought it was the slow middle part of [Dvorak’s Humouresque](http://play2.rbn.com/?url=walmart/walmart/g2demand/007/23/72/37/30/92/0072372373092.01.01.001.rm&proto=rtsp)
