Actually, [they are](http://www.promiselandranch.net/Images%20and%20Buttons/Skulls13.jpg), at least inside. The outside is a horny sheath. So the bird skeletons in the exhibition are anatomically correct.

Cool exhibit. (And many of the images shown in a Google search on “duck skeleton” are of Donald and his nephews from the show.)
